Guest Organization Update
Each month we invite a representative of other climate crisis fighting organization to brief us on their programs and plans. This month David Breecker will give us an overview of the work of the Microgrid Systems Laboratory.
David is the founder and President of the Microgrid Systems Laboratory, an international consortium of organizations working on decentralized grid modernization technologies
Invited Talk
Dr. Jane Lehr a professor at UNM will review the projects and programs of the Center for Engineered Resilience and Ecological Sustainability and how it may serve as catalysts for collaboration with partners in the public and private sector in meeting the challenges for New Mexico.
Biography
A professor at the University of New Mexico since 2013 and a Fellow of the IEEE since 2008, Dr. Lehr served as chair of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department from 2013 to 2015. She is an active researcher in the Applied Electromagnetics Group where the thrust of her research has been studying pulsed power generation and applications and high voltage phenomena. Dr. Lehr served as President of the IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society in 2007-2008 and currently serves as the society’s Fellow Evaluation Chair. Professor Lehr is the recipient of the 2015 IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society’s Richard F. Shea Distinguished Member Award.
