SUMMARY:ClimateXchange: Defending Climate Policy
DESCRIPTION:Defending Climate Policy: Breakout Discussions with State Advocates\nAs climate policy rollbacks spread across the country\, states are left grappling with how to navigate an increasingly defensive policy landscape. From attacks on renewable energy to broader attempts to undermine climate planning and protections\, advocates and policymakers are working hard to maintain momentum garnered in previous years and protect communities from further backsliding. \nIn this participatory event\, we’re connecting attendees with policy experts to explore how states can defend against attacks on climate policy. First\, we’ll analyze anti-climate policy trends across the country\, before splitting into three breakout rooms to dive deeper into state-level case studies in the Southeast\, New York\, and Michigan. We’ll come back together at the end of the session for Q&A and discussion with other on-the-ground climate advocates. \nOur expert panel includes: \n\nRuby Wincele\, Policy & Research Manager at Climate XChange\nAbigail Franks\, Membership and Policy Manager at Southeast Climate & Energy Network\nJon Binder\, Executive Director of the Model Climate Laws Initiative\, a joint initiative of Columbia Law’s Sabin Center for Climate Change Law and Environmental Advocates NY\nCourtney Brady\, State Advocacy Director at Evergreen Action\n\nRegister
