DESCRIPTION:Energy Subsidies and Taxes: Exploring Climate Impacts with En-ROADS\nEnergy subsidies and taxes play a central role in shaping our global energy system. In this session\, we’ll introduce the latest update to the En-ROADS Climate Solutions Simulator\, which enables you to test adjusting subsidies and taxes separately for each major energy source and brings greater clarity to how these policies work in practice and affect climate outcomes. \nClimate Interactive Executive Director Andrew Jones and System Dynamics Modeler Kaveh Dianati will walk through how to explore energy subsidies and taxes in En-ROADS\, evaluate their impacts\, and apply these insights in your workshops\, discussions\, and decision-making. You’ll see how these features reflect today’s global policy environment and enable you to test how different policies shape emissions\, costs\, and energy use.\n—\nDeveloped by Climate Interactive and MIT Sloan\, En-ROADS is a system dynamics model carefully grounded in the best available science and has been calibrated against a wide range of integrated assessment model scenarios.
