DESCRIPTION:On April 26\, 350 Santa Fe continues its film series on climate change with a pair of half hour documentaries showing the impacts of global warming and oil and gas production on two different parts of the planet. \nLand of Sacrifice describes in vivid detail the impacts of oil and gas production in the Permian and San Juan Basins of New Mexico. It makes visible the escape of methane gas into the atmosphere\, documenting its impacts on the climate as well as on the health of people in nearby communities. Filmmaker Annie Ersinghaus will be present to discuss the film and answer questions. \nArctic Alchemy then takes us to the far northern regions of the planet\, showing how global warming is dramatically affecting that distant and pristine region of the Earth. It also describes the personal journey of climate scientist Roman Dial\, who will join us remotely to discuss his explorations. \nThe program begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Center for Contemporary Arts\, 1050 Old Pecos Trail in Santa Fe. Admission is free. Tax deductible donations to support the continuation of our educational programs are gratefully accepted at 350santafe.org. Phase 1 is described as 199 MWac solar paired with 199 MWac BESS\, and Phase 2 as 150 MWac solar paired with 150 MWac BESS\, for a combined 349 MWac solar and 349 MWac BESS if both phases are built. The site is on the east side of State Highway 41 about 2.4 miles north northeast of Stanley on privately owned grazing land totaling about 2\,896 acres\, with an “inside the fence” footprint of about 2\,003 acres; the applicant indicates a preference to construct both phases simultaneously but notes they could be built sequentially. \n\nThe project would interconnect via a new on site 4 ring bus switchyard tapping PNM’s 345 kV Diamond Tail to Clines Corner transmission line that crosses the property\, and the narrative states the project has obtained two Large Generator Interconnection Agreements with PNM totaling 349 MW of interconnection capacity. The applicant is Globemallow Energy\, LLC\, a project specific entity owned and controlled by Linea Energy\, and the filing is positioned as a Conditional Use Permit application under Santa Fe County’s Sustainable Land Development Code\, with the site split between Rural and Agricultural/Ranching zoning where commercial solar and power generation are conditional uses. \nSee the county website for instructions to make public comment.  Please show your support for this essential renewable energy project.
