Transit Equity Day

February 4, 2020

Transit Equity Day is a collaborative effort of several organizations and unions to promote public transit as a civil right and a strategy to address the climate crisis.

Why February 4? February 4th is Rosa Parks’ birthday. As a civil rights leader and organizer, Rosa Parks, Claudette Colvin and others’ refused to give up their bus seats as part of the broader Montgomery Bus Boycott. This a reminder of the impact individual action can have.
