UCS Defense of Science in an Era of Authoritarianism

November 13, 2025 @ 10:00 am MST

Scientists play many critical roles informing legal proceedings as communicators advising legal teams, serving as expert witnesses, and as researchers advancing science that informs growing legal theories.

The Union of Concerned Scientists invites you to join the Science Hub for Climate Litigation for a timely conversation on how scientists are getting involved in climate litigation.

Register today.

Our Science Hub experts will speak with Heidi Weiskel, PhD, a marine ecologist with extensive research and leadership across the academic, nonprofit, government, and law sectors. Dr. Weiskel will share her experiences engaging with law and her work meeting with judges, lawyers, and scientists to build the nascent SciJustice institute.

This webinar will feature the experiences of scientists with diverse expertise, providing insight into ways to get involved in climate litigation, what to expect for experts in this field, and opportunities to grow your skills with the UCS Science Hub community.

Join us to hear more about how experts inform climate action through the law: register today, and we hope to see you on November 13.
