La Milpa Comunitaria is a project sponsored by Earth Care/Poder Familiar and Growing Up NM. Two of our Poder Familiar moms, Irail and Maria, will present the Community Milpa project this coming October 14, 1-4pm at Earth Care (6600 Valentine Way). They will introduce us to the process of how to plant a flower, fruit or vegetable seed and also the importance of teaching our children the process of harvesting our own food, since today many children don’t know where our food comes from.
 

Irail and Maria share with us: “Once I asked my son where the apple he was eating came from, and he only answered – From the store.” Join us for a day full of information, resource tables, raffles and more!
