NM Climate Masters Course

March 26

The Santa Fe Watershed Association (SFWA) presents a Climate Masters course, developed at the University of Oregon Climate Leadership Initiative, it provides approximately 30 hours of programming over a 9-week time frame. The curriculum focuses primarily on climate change in New Mexico and the locally relevant interrelated connections between water, soil, food production, consumption/waste, forest management, transportation, energy and the way we live our lives.

Weekly, expert guest speakers will provide in-depth presentations in each of the topic areas. Participants will also be taken on a field trip into the Upper Santa Fe Watershed to witness first-hand the efforts already underway to protect our forest and water supply.

Once the course is completed, students are required to engage in 30 hours of climate-related community service to receive the title of “Climate Master.”

The 2024 NM Climate Masters Course will begin on March 26th and meet every Tuesday Evening until May 21st from 5:30 to 8:00 pm at the Randall Davey Audubon Center. We will also go on three Saturday Field Trips (Dates tbd).

SFWA will open registration for the spring 2024 course at the beginning of February. To stay updated, sign up for their bi-weekly newsletter at the bottom of this page. In the meantime please contact Julie Hasty at julie@santafewatershed.org with any questions.
