And since the summer solstice is approaching, that means we’re barely a quarter turn around our local star from the big day itself. We’ll just have finished with the big June 14 demonstration—No Kings Day, sign up here. The resistance is building fast, in part because the need for resistance is ever-clearer. (A $400 million flying bribe?). And Sun Day will be a big part of that resistance, because solar cuts climate risk, solar makes economic sense—and solar is also liberating. Empowering individual Americans and local communities to make their own power is one of the best ways to undercut the oligarchs and autocrats. Sun Day is about saying we don’t want American “energy dominance” but instead an entire world that depends on the unblinking warmth of the sun for the power we need.

Some of that work is nitty-gritty: you’ll hear from Third Actors working to change solar permitting laws, and to take on the profusion of energy-sucking data centers around the country. And some of it is celebratory—you’ll see some of the new art pouring into SunDay.earth. We’ll be joined by a few special guests that we’ll announce closer to the date. We all need power, and a lot of ours comes from each other, so tune in!
