Tracing Tides: How Major Carbon Producers Drive Sea Level Rise and Climate Injustice
Nearly half of the increase in present-day average surface temperature and one-third of present-day sea level rise can be traced to emissions from the 122 largest fossil fuel producers and cement manufacturers, according to new research by the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS). These big polluters, known as the carbon majors, have locked in as much as 22 inches of global sea level rise by 2300.
The Union of Concerned Scientists invites you to a virtual discussion to learn about how carbon majors’ past emissions are driving current global warming and future sea level
